Gestance Meeting

You are interested in fostering or adopting a child with special needs and would like to learn more about the process, daily life, the support offered by our organization, and more? Our Gestance Meeting information session is available online and is free of charge. These sessions are the perfect opportunity to get all the details you need to inform your decision.

The Gestance Meeting allows participants to learn more about the steps involved in adopting a child with special needs. Whether you’re just beginning to explore this option or are already well into the process, you’ll find answers to your questions: youth protection laws, types of placement plans, children’s profiles, the matching process, the types of families we’re looking for, the necessary steps, and concepts related to attachment are just some of the topics that will be covered. An Emmanuel family will also be there to share their story and their journey.

Target Audience:

  • Parents who are considering welcoming a child into their family for various reasons, but who have always, throughout their personal journeys, been open to diversity and shown a particular sensitivity toward people in need;
  • Educators, social workers, and care providers of all kinds who wish to take an extra step in their commitment to children with special needs;
  • Parents awaiting adoption through the “Mixed Bank” program (programme Banque mixte) who wish to better prepare themselves to welcome a child in this situation.

Duration: 1.5 hours | Videoconference (Zoom)

The meeting will be conducted in French.
