Find a family for Lionel (pseudonym)

Lionel* is a very endearing 5-year-old boy.

Discover his story

My name is Lionel, I’m 5 years old, and I’m a lovable, curious, and very sociable little boy. I enjoy going up to others, saying “hello,” and making connections, even if my words are sometimes still hard to understand. However, I’m making great progress in communication, especially with the support of speech therapy.

I live with Level 2 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), which means I need consistent support to continue learning and developing.

On a daily basis, I’m becoming more independent. I no longer wear diapers, and I’m getting better at expressing my needs. I’m also making progress with getting dressed thanks to pictograms, and I’m gradually learning hygiene routines, like brushing my teeth with the help of an adult.

Mealtimes still require some support: my food needs to be cut into small pieces, and I need encouragement. I like it when an adult eats with me. I have a bovine protein allergy, but I’m open to trying new foods and don’t have any particular food aversions.

I enjoy playing with cars, blocks, and books. I’m starting to take an interest in other children and I’m slowly learning to share and respect their space. A predictable routine and clear guidelines help me feel safe and function well.

I’m looking for a kind, patient, and attentive family who will support me in my daily life, encourage my progress, and provide me with a safe environment.

Are you the one I’m looking for to be my family?
